Prezi is a popular cloud-based presentation software that allows users to create captivating and non-linear presentations. With its unique canvas-based approach, Prezi enables presenters to zoom in and out of content, creating an immersive and interactive experience.

While Prezi offers a range of features and templates to enhance your presentations, there are times when you may want to download a Prezi presentation for offline viewing or sharing with others who may not have access to the internet. This is where knowing how to download a Prezi presentation without a Pro account can come in handy.

Downloading a Prezi presentation without a Pro account can be a bit tricky. Prezi has made some changes to its platform over the years, resulting in different methods to download presentations based on the version you are using – Prezi Desktop, Prezi Classic, or Prezi Next. In this article, we will explore three different methods that will allow you to download Prezi presentations without a Pro account.

What is Prezi?

Prezi is a cloud-based presentation software that offers a fresh and innovative approach to creating and delivering presentations. Unlike traditional slide-based tools, Prezi allows users to create visually dynamic and engaging presentations on a single, vast canvas.

With Prezi, presenters can zoom in and out of content, pan across the canvas, and create smooth transitions between different elements. This non-linear style of presentation enables a more interactive and immersive experience for the audience.

Prezi offers a wide range of features and templates that help users in crafting professional-looking presentations. Users can add text, images, videos, charts, and more to enhance the visual appeal and convey their message effectively.

One of the key advantages of Prezi is its accessibility. Being a cloud-based tool, Prezi allows users to create and access their presentations from any device with an internet connection. This flexibility ensures that presenters can work on their presentations anytime, anywhere.

Moreover, Prezi offers collaboration features, allowing multiple users to work on a presentation simultaneously. This makes it a great tool for team projects or group presentations, as it promotes seamless cooperation and real-time editing.

Prezi is also known for its integration capabilities. It integrates with other tools like PowerPoint, Google Slides, and YouTube, allowing users to import content and enhance their presentations with ease.

Whether you are a student delivering a class project, a business professional pitching a new idea, or a teacher engaging your students, Prezi provides a visually captivating and dynamic platform to communicate your ideas effectively.

You can make edits, add content, modify visuals, or rearrange the order of your slides according to your needs. This allows for more personalized and tailored presentations.

How to Download All Images from a Prezi

extract-download-images-from-a-prezi-presentation

Have you ever wanted to download images or videos from your Prezi onto your computer?

Since the launch of Prezi, it has always been quite difficult to download of the original images or videos that you’ve already inserted into your presentation.

However with the launch of Prezi Next, extracting and download images (or videos) from your own or even someone else’s presentation is quite simple.

In fact I don’t think it can get any easier than this!

However there are various options, as it largely depends on whether you need all images, a single image, video or even content from someone else’s Prezi.

So let’s look at all the different options for downloading content from a Prezi and see which one is suitable for you:

Method 1 – Download All Content (images + videos) from Your Own Prezi

This first method is great if you need to download all the images and videos from your own Prezi.

It also works for both Prezi Classic and Prezi Next presentations (they both have separate Desktop App, or you can also convert your Prezi Classic to Prezi Next and use the method below.)

NB: If you only need to download 1 or a few images, then consider using the second method, as that is much faster!

But if you need all the content, then do it like this: 1) Open the Prezi Desktop App (example created in Prezi Next and Windows operating system)

2) Find your presentation and export it as a Portable Prezi

download presentation prezi

3) Find the .exe file you just exported, right-click on the file and choose “Extract to “Prezi WIN YOUR_PREZI_NAME

download presentation prezi

This will create a new folder with all the Prezi content inside.

4) Inside that new folder, navigate to \contents.portable\images

download presentation prezi

5) and voila! Absolutely all the media content from your Prezi is listed in this folder:

download presentation prezi

Method 2 – Download Images One-by-One from an Online Prezi Presentation (Also Works if The Prezi is Not Yours)

(if your Prezi is private, you should use the method described in the previous section with Prezi Desktop)

If your Prezi is public, do it like this:

1) Go to the public URL of your Prezi like this: https://prezi.com/p/bt3mljrsxrgf/

You might want to log-out if you are viewing your own Prezi (because it will open in edit view, instead of presentation view which we need), or use the incognito tab.

2) On the new Prezi URL, there is also an Outline section, where all slides are shown as static images.

download presentation prezi

Simply scroll down and find a slide which includes the images(s) you are looking for.

3) You’ll be taken to a new page which includes the overview of the slide…

however when you scroll down further, you’ll also see the section named “Visuals” with all the images used on that slide in full size.

Right click on the image you need, and depending on your web browser, you’ll an option to download the original image like this (Chrome)

download presentation prezi

Download Just the Background Image of Your Online Prezi (Inside the Edit Mode – for Advanced Users)

Sometimes you just might want to download the original full-size background image of your Prezi presentation.

You can use both of the above methods for achieving this, however this trick is for the lazy people, because there is no need to leave the edit mode of your Prezi…

Do it like this: 1) inside your Prezi edit mode, click on Style menu

2) hover over the Background area and make a right-click

3) then choose “Inspect” (In Chrome – might be different in other browsers)

4) Click on the DIV with the class= sc-hizQCF dlQVah

5) This will reveal the URL to the full background image, which you can insert into the address bar and download your image in full size:

download presentation prezi

That was it – 3 methods for downloading the original images from your Prezi.

If you wish to save a quick screenshot from your Prezi from any slide, you can also use a method described in this blog post.

I hope this tutorial was helpful, but if you need help with downloading images, don’t hesitate to share your ideas or questions in the comments.

Prezi desktop for Windows

Free presentation design software.

Image 0 for Prezi desktop

Prezi Desktop is the free desktop version of the web-based presentation design software Prezi. The software allows you to use Prezi when offline as long as you were logged in beforehand.

Prezi Desktop has all the same functionality of the original Prezi web app. With this software, you can design simple animated slideshows and presentations for academic and professional settings. Prezi comes with a variety of templates, each of which can be modified and altered as you desire.

The primary draw of Prezi Desktop is offline compatibility. By logging into your Prezi account, you can use the software even if your internet connection gets interrupted. The purpose of this is so you can seamlessly continue a presentation without waiting for the internet to return.

It is possible that Prezi desktop will allow you to continue designing a presentation while offline, though it’s uncertain if this feature is actually included. It’s unlikely that you will be able to save your progress until the internet connection returns, however your workflow can still go uninterrupted.

Prezi is often seen as an unprofessional presentation design software . This is due in large part to the cartoonish nature of its animated transitions. The software can also be difficult to work with when starting from scratch.

When starting from scratch, the software must be designed individually and animated through standardized animations. This turns templates into almost a necessity, and it’s very difficult to modify these to better suit your needs.

Competitors

When comparing competition for presentation design software, the ease of use and professional reputation of the software is key. Microsoft Powerpoint is the most common choice for designing business-quality slideshows and presentations. The software provides a massive suite of tools for the accomplishment of this goal, but unlike Prezi is not free.

Google Slides is a common choice for teams, which lets you split the work up over the internet between collaborators. While not functional offline, the app enables remote collaboration for presenting and designing.

Prezi Desktop is, overall easy to use with its clean templates and animations, but difficult to master due to the fixed nature of the animations.

Should you download it?

No, the software is free but does not surpass its competitors.

Make a PowerPoint Look Like a Prezi Presentation

Carla Albinagorta

Prezi it’s a great option for making unique and eye-catching presentations. However, learning how to use it can be a daunting task. If you feel more comfortable using PowerPoint for your presentations, but still want that Prezi-style “flow”, you can do it! This tutorial will help you give your presentation a unique feel and make your PowerPoint look like a Prezi presentation.

PowerPoint like Prezi example

PowerPoint vs Prezi

PowerPoint has reign supreme as the software everyone used for making presentations for many, many years. Despite the fact that there are dozens of other free presentation-making tools , the Microsoft Office program is still the go-to. And for a good reason! PowerPoint offers an amazing array of possibilities when working on a presentation. And, even better, is very intuitive and easy to use for anyone familiar with the Microsoft Office program set.

In 2009, a new option for presentations appeared: Prezi . Unlike PowerPoint’s rigid linear structure, Prezi uses a completely different approach to presentations. Prezi presentations are focused on storytelling . Instead of slides, Prezi presentations form “mind maps” where you can navigate freely, zooming in and out of different topics as you see fit. Prezi presentations have a unique “flow” that is very different from traditional ones made in PowerPoint.

Each of these presentations tools have their pros and cons , and both are incredible audiovisual complements for all kind of presentations. As we are usually more familiar with the PowerPoint style, Prezi presentations can feel more eye-catching and interesting. However, Prezi requires patience and time to learn how to use completely new software. It’s been accused of being not very user-friendly, and many people give up on it in favor of classic, trustworthy PowerPoint.

prezi vs PowerPoint

Make a presentation in PowerPoint look like Prezi

All this doesn’t mean Prezi is a bad option for working on your presentations. But as PowerPoint is usually the presentation software many of us has grown with, it can be difficult to make the transition towards a new software. Luckily for those without the time or will to learn how to work with Prezi, you can still make a Prezi-like presentation in PowerPoint.

Here you’ll find 2 easy ways to make your PowerPoint presentation look like a Prezi one.

The Zoom Tool

The first (and most effective) option for making a PowerPoint presentation look like a Prezi is the Zoom Tool. More specifically, the Slide Zoom feature. It is a pretty easy and straight forward process. So, are you ready to make your PowerPoint look like a Prezi presentation?

1. Main Slide

First of all, you need to have your main slide ready . Prezi presentations work as a mind map, so your main slide will be an overview of your whole presentation. From here, you’ll be able to zoom in or zoom out according to what you need when presenting. But this main slide is the backbone to where you’ll always return.

A great idea for main slides is to use pictures of work desks or anything that will naturally offer you different elements, so your slides can be incorporated seamlessly into it. For example, I have picked as my main slide this timeline slide. Each of the blue squares is going to be a secondary slide I can zoom into.

PowerPoint Slide Zoom feature

2. Secondary Slides

Make your secondary slides . I found it easier to have them all ready to use and add them all together. Of course, you can always make and add them with the zoom effect one by one. But in this case, you’ll see that here all my secondary slides already good to go.

PowerPoint Slide Zoom feature

3. Zoom In!

Now it’s time for the zoom! Go to your main slide, pick the Insert tab > Zoom option (in the Links group) > Slide Zoom .

PowerPoint Slide Zoom feature

It’ll open a new window where you can pick which secondary slides you want to be able to zoom in, and click Insert .

PowerPoint Slide Zoom feature

4. Arrange your slides

You’re almost done! You’ll now be able to see direct access to your secondary slides on your main one.

Slide Zoom PowePoint like Prezi

Now, you just need to arrange them until you are satisfied with how your main slide looks. Don’t worry about those little numbers you see in the thumbnails of your secondary slides. They just mark the slide order, and will not appear once you’re in presentation mode.

5. Make your PowerPoint feel like Prezi

To make your PowerPoint presentation really look like Prezi, it’s important that you can “zoom-out” and return to your main slide after zooming into whichever slide you pick. To do this, pick any of your secondary slides Zoom tab > Return to Zoom option. Do the same for each one of your secondary slides.

PowerPoint Slide Zoom feature

And here you have the final product! Here you can see it in the automatic order the slides will go into if you use the arrow keys. But you can also use your mouse to click on any of your secondary slides, and follow your presentation as it develops. You’ll be able to jump from one slide to another with no problem, just like in a Prezi presentation.

Customize your Prezi-like PowerPoint

As you can see in the Zoom tab , you can customize your presentation as much as you like. You can increase the duration of the zoom effect, and this will make the transition less abrupt. If you feel that having a miniature of your slide gives away too much information, you can replace it with another image with the Change image option. And in the “Zoom Styles” option, you can customize even more your secondary slide thumbnail. Try the Zoom Background option to make your secondary slide thumbnail mix seamlessly with your main slide background. The sky is the limit!

Important note: Take into consideration the Slide Zoom feature is only available in Microsoft 365 and Microsoft 2019. So if you have an older version, chances are your PowerPoint software is not going to offer this feature. Luckily, as PowerPoint is an incredibly popular tool, there are many other options available for you! PowerPoint Labs is a completely free add-in that offers an amazing array of brand new features for your presentations, including a zoom tool.

The Morph Tool

While this feature will not make your PowerPoint presentation look exactly like Prezi, it’s still worth mentioning. Morph is an amazing new feature for Office 365, that allows you to make complex transitions between slides. When done correctly, the morph tool can make your presentation look more like a professional video than a PowerPoint presentation!

This is just a tiny example of what you can do with this tool. Morph is an amazing and powerful feature that will help you take your presentation to new heights. But, of course, it comes with a learning curve. You can use it to animate words, create anagram effects, and even give your images 3D rotations. But the more complex and detailed you want it to be, the more effort it’ll demand. If you want to learn more about the possibilities the morph tool offers, check out this article !

download presentation prezi

If you want the wow factor of a Prezi presentation, but you don’t feel comfortable with its work structure and options, don’t worry! PowerPoint presentations don’t have to be boring, and there are many different ways to give them more personality and flavor. While the Zoom feature might seem complex, once you’ve tried it, you’ll realize that is super easy and intuitive. Are you ready to make a unique Prezi-like PowerPoint presentation?
