Method – 1

Ignou percentage calculator, method – 2, ignou full result percentage calculator, how to calculate your ignou percentage, step 1: collect your marks.

Gather your marks from theory exams, practical exams, and assignments.

Ensure these are the final marks after any revaluation or updates.

Step 2: Understand the Weightage

Check the weightage for each component in your program. Typically, it might be:

Theory: 70%

Practical: 20%

Assignment: 10%

Step 3: Calculate Weighted Marks

Use the formula for each component:

Weighted Marks = (Marks Obtained/Total Marks )× Weightage

Theory marks : 60 out of 100, Weightage: 70%

Practical marks: 50 out of 100, Weightage: 20%

Assignment marks: 25 out of 100, Weightage: 10%

Theory Weighted Marks=(60/100)×70 =42

Practical Weighted Marks=(50/100)×20 =10

Assignment Weighted Marks=(25/100)×10 =2.5

Step 4: Sum Up the Weighted Marks

Add all the weighted marks together:

Total Weighted Marks=42+10+2.5=54.5

Step 5: Convert to Percentage

Convert the total weighted marks to a percentage:

Percentage=(Total Weighted Marks/100)×100

Percentage=(54.5/100)×100= 54.5%

SubjectTheory MarksAssignment Marks
English6025
Hindi5520
History7028
Political Science6522
Economics5824

Steps to Calculate

Input Your Marks :

Enter the theory marks and assignment marks into the respective fields for each subject.

Calculate Converted Marks

The IGNOU percentage calculation is based on the weightage of marks:

Assignments carry 30% of the total weightage.Theory exams carry 70% of the total weightage. The formulas to calculate the converted marks for each subject are:

Converted Theory Marks = Theory Marks × 0.7

Converted Assignment Marks = Assignment Marks × 0.3

Calculate Total Marks :

For each subject, add the converted theory and assignment marks to get the total marks for that subject.

Total Calculation :

Sum all the converted theory and assignment marks to get your total marks.

Percentage Calculation :

Finally, calculate your percentage using the formula:

Percentage= Total Marks/Maximum Possible Marks*100

Assuming the maximum marks for each subject is 120 (100 for theory and 30 for assignment), for 5 subjects, the total maximum marks would be 5×120=600

Calculation Breakdown

Let’s calculate the percentage based on the example:

Subject-wise Calculations

SubjectTheory MarksAssignment MarksConverted Theory MarksConverted Assignment MarksTotal Marks
English602560 × 0.7 = 4225 × 0.3 = 7.549.5
Hindi552055 × 0.7 = 38.520 × 0.3 = 644.5
History702870 × 0.7 = 4928 × 0.3 = 8.457.4
Political Science652265 × 0.7 = 45.522 × 0.3 = 6.652.1
Economics582458 × 0.7 = 40.624 × 0.3 = 7.247.8

Total Marks Calculation

Total Marks = 49.5 + 44.5 + 57.4 + 52.1 + 47.8 = 251.3

Percentage Calculation

Percentage = 251.3/600 × 100 = 41.88%

IGNOU PERCENTAGE CALCULATOR 2024

Candidates can calculate their percentage once they have received their complete results and a grade card from IGNOU University ( IGNOU Percentage Calculator 2024 June & December). Based on the results of the theory examination and the assignment marks, the percentage is calculated. Both are required to complete your programme at IGNOU and be qualified to receive a degree certificate from the university.

If a student has completed all of the necessary exams and has received their complete IGNOU Grade Card or Result electronically from the university, they can apply the formula below to get their percentage. You can use our instructions and guidelines to figure out the exact exam score you received.

The IGNOU percentage is calculated using the Assignment and Theoretical marks from the Term End Exam. The approach is generally applicable to almost all IGNOU courses.

Assignments (30% weighted): Every semester or college year, candidates must submit their IGNOU assignments to the study centre coordinator.

Exam at the End of the Term (70% Weighted): The IGNOU conducts the exam at the end of the term twice a year in June and December. Upon the completion of assignments, candidates may appear in either of the two session exams.

How to Calculate Accurate IGNOU Percentage?

To calculate your percentage in each exam that the IGNOU conducts, we have developed a detailed example and method. The final exam of your chosen programme will use the same method.

I can help you with calculating your percentage. To calculate your percentage, you will need to know the total marks obtained and the maximum marks for each subject.

Here are the steps to calculate your percentage by using the IGNOU PERCENTAGE CALCULATOR :

  • Add up the total marks obtained in all the subjects.
  • Add up the maximum marks for all the subjects.
  • Divide the total marks obtained by the total maximum marks and multiply by 100 to get your percentage.

For example, if you obtained 80 marks out of 100 in English, 75 marks out of 100 in Mathematics, and 90 marks out of 100 in Science, here’s how you can calculate your percentage:

Total marks obtained = 80 + 75 + 90 = 245 Total maximum marks = 100 + 100 + 100 = 300

Percentage = (245/300) x 100 = 81.67%

Therefore, your percentage for these subjects is 81.67%. So let’s see the table below for your IGNOU Percentage.

IGNOU PERCENTAGE CALCULATOR

Students should take into account the following grading system, which is based on the percentage they obtain on your exam while evaluating their marks.

ignou garde system

The letter grading system is used for grading your assignment marks and theory marks. Following is the list of grades with remarks:

ignou garde system 2

In order to successfully complete a course, IGNOU students need to receive at least a “D” on all of their assignments and term-end tests. Nonetheless, in order to successfully complete a programme from IGNOU, the overall average must score at least a “C.”

In conclusion, figuring out your percentage on Ignou is a simple process. To calculate your percentage, all you need to do is add up all of your marks and then multiply that amount by 100 using the formula (Total marks received / Total marks of all courses). By following the procedure given above, you can quickly ascertain your Ignou percentage and utilise it to monitor your academic development.

Q1: How can I calculate my percentage on Ignou?

You must first figure out your total number of marks for each of your courses to calculate your percentage on Ignou. Once you have this information, you may get your percentage using the formula below: Percentage = (Total marks obtained / Total marks of all courses) x 100

For example, let’s say you have obtained a total of 500 marks out of a maximum of 700 in all of your courses. Using the above formula, your percentage would be:

Percentage = (500 / 700) x 100 = 71.43%

Therefore, your percentage on Ignou would be 71.43%

The percentage is calculated by multiplying the total marks obtained by all courses by 100.

Say, for illustration, that across all of your courses, you received a total of 500 marks out of a possible 700. Your percentage would be as follows using the formula above:

Percentage equals (500/700) times 100, or 71.43%.

As a result, your Ignou percentage would be 71.43%.

Q2: What is the weightage of Ignou?

In IGNOU, Assignment carries 30% weightage and term-end examination (Theory Marks) carries 70% weightage of your marks. so the total mark in the subject will be = 49+24=73.

Q3: How to calculate the percentage?

Divide the amount by the total value to calculate the percentage, then multiply the resulting number by 100.

Q4: What is the first division of Ignou?

Unsuccessful Lower than 40% Pass Between 40% and 49.9% Second Division Between 50% and 59.9% First Division Over 60%.

Say goodbye to confusion and hello to a bright future!

In order to calculate the IGNOU percentage, candidates are required to divide the marks obtained by the total marks 1200 and multiply it by 100.

The factors that are taken into consideration to calculate the IGNOU percentage online are assignment marks, TEE theory marks and TEE practical marks.

A qualifying mark for IGNOU exams will be at least 40% of the total marks in the theory and 50% of the total marks in the assignments.

A grade of 60% marks or above can be considered a first division grade in IGNOU. However, 80% and above can be regarded as an excellent grade.

You will find the IGNOU score or grade card on the official website of IGNOU  @ignou.ac.in after the release of the IGNOU TEE result. Enter your 10-digit enrollment number to view or download the grade card.

The steps included in the IGNOU percentage calculation process are collecting the necessary information, understanding the grading system, calculating grade points, calculating total credits and total grade points, and calculating percentage.

IGNOU percentage calculator: Calculate your score easily

Ignou percentage calculator online.

Indira Gandhi National Open University is one of India’s best open and distance learning schools, and it is in New Delhi.

It gives students a range of postgraduate and undergraduate degrees. A lot of students take different courses.

One of the challenges that students face when studying at IGNOU is calculating their overall percentage or grade point average (GPA).

University follows a grading system that uses letter grades to evaluate student performance in each course.

Students can use an IGNOU percentage calculator online to determine their overall score or GPA based on their grades in individual courses.

This tool is useful that can help students calculate their cumulative grade point average (CGPA) and an overall score based on the grades obtained in each course.

This article will help you determine your score calculation.

Table of Contents

Why do we need an IGNOU percentage calculator online?

A percentage calculator can be useful for students who want to calculate their overall score or grade point average (GPA) based on the marks obtained in their term-end exams.

There are several reasons why a student may need to use an IGNOU percentage calculator online:

To know your overall performance

Using an IGNOU online percentage calculator, you can easily calculate your overall result or GPA, giving you a clear idea of your academic performance.

To plan future studies

Knowing your overall percentage can help you plan your future studies, such as deciding on specialization or applying for higher studies or jobs.

To check eligibility criteria

Some courses or job applications may have eligibility criteria based on minimum percentage or GPA. By using this, you can check whether you meet the eligibility criteria.

In short, an IGNOU percentage calculator can be a useful tool for students to calculate their overall score or GPA, which can help them in making informed decisions about their academic and career paths.

IGNOU marks calculation

They calculated the percentage by adding the marks for the assignments and the TEE paper.

Management conducts semester exams twice a year, in December and June. These exams are called TEE.

The university follows a percentage based on a 30:70 split in the subject; they determine a student’s performance based on how well they did on their TMA (30%) and how well they did on the final exam (70%).

For the  master’s degree  course, students should get at least 40 out of 100, with 20 out of 50 on their TEE.

If a student fails the theory test but gets 50% on the assignment, then the students have to apply again in the exam.

How to calculate the IGNOU percentage

The grade card will say that students who got 80% or more are excellent, 60% to 79% are very good, 50 to 59% are good, 40% to 49% are satisfactory, and below 40% are unsatisfactory.

University doesn’t use numbers with a decimal point and will round up the score in the offense.

Before you figure out how to use the IGNOU Percentage Calculator, you should know these things.

For example, if a student got a 25.1, 25.2, 25.3, 25.4, or 25.5 in any subject, their grade card would say “25.” If they got a 26.6, 26.7, 26.8, or 26.9, their grade card would say “27.”

They will use a different way to determine the score for each subject.

To figure out the percentage, add all the exam points and divide by the number of subjects.

IGNOU first division percentage calculator

Indira Gandhi National Open University follows the same grading system as other universities in India.

Here is the breakdown of the IGNOU grading system:

  • Unsuccessful Below 35%
  • Pass 35% to 49.9%
  • Second Division 50% to 59.9%
  • First Division 60% and above
  • A minimum of 60% is required to get a first division in IGNOU.

Students can easily figure out their scores even if they don’t have access to the internet.

Before that, the students need to know how they did in theory and on their assignments for all of their classes in the semester.

The university will give marks out of 100 for both activities.

The students must turn their theory and assignment grades into a 30:70 ratio.

Here, we show you how to figure out the IGNOU percentage calculator application in a few easy steps.

See the points below for more info on percentages.

Let’s take a look:

  • The students have to add up their marks from all their courses.
  • Then, make a table and write the marks for each subject separately.
  • The mark for theory should be 70%, and the mark for TMA 30%.
  • Now, take 70% of the program’s theory marks and 30% of the assignment marks and add them together to get the aggregation.
  • Now, add all the amounts to get the total number of subjects.
  • Here, divide the total by the number of subjects in the semester.

IGNOU m arks calculator for grade card

As we said above, TMA will be worth 30% of your grade, and theory exams will be 70% of your grade. So, for example, if a candidate has 90 marks on the assignments on the degree card, they will get 27 marks, and if a candidate has 70 marks on the TEE theory exam on the grade card , they will get 49 marks.

So the total number of points for that subject is (27 + 49) = 76.

Using the same method, candidates must determine and add their marks for all courses.

To determine the percentage, the candidate must divide the total number of points by 1200.

IGNOU Percentage Calculator 2024

The grading system at IGNOU is based on a student’s academic performance and discipline. Students are categorized based on their scores: those with 80% or above are considered excellent, 79-60% are very good, 59-50% are good, 49-40% are satisfactory, and below 40% are unsatisfactory. IGNOU’s grading system is unique in that it doesn’t use decimal numbers. Instead, scores are rounded to the nearest whole number, ensuring a straightforward evaluation process.

IGNOU Grade Card 2024 Calculator

IGNOU’s way of grading takes into account both your term-end exam scores and your assignment scores. They do it like this:

Term-end Theory Examination70%

Step-by-Step Guide to Find Your IGNOU Result Percentage

As this is a detailed process, let’s explain using an example:

Step 1: Gather Your Scores

  • Obtain your term-end exam score (out of 70).
  • Acquire your assignment score (out of 30).
  • For example, let’s assume you received 60 marks in your term-end exam and 70 marks in your assignment.

To calculate your IGNOU result percentage, you need to consider the weightage given to assignments and theory exams:

  • Assignments carry 30% weight.
  • Theory exams carry 70% weight.
  • Now, convert your marks to a percentage based on this ratio. To do this:

Calculate your assignment percentage: (Your Assignment Score /100) * 30 = 27

Calculate your theory exam percentage: (Your Theory Exam Score /100) * 70 = 42

Step 2: Add Up Your Marks

Add your term-end exam score and your assignment score:

Total Marks = Term-End Exam Marks + Assignment Marks = 69

Step 3: Calculate Your Result Percentage

Assuming you have 5 subjects in your IGNOU program, you first need to add up the marks scored in all of your 5 papers. Then divide them by the maximum total marks of those 5 papers:

Result Percentage = (Total Marks in all subjects/ Maximum Total Marks) * 100

Grades System for Percentage 2024

IGNOU has a grading chart that shows your letter grade and how well you did based on your result percentage. The grading chart looks like this:

80% – AboveExcellent5
60% – 79.9%Very Good4
50% – 59.9%Good3
40% – 49.9%Satisfactory2

Tips for Accurate IGNOU Score Calculation

Here are some useful tips for accurate calculation of IGNOU score

  • Double-check your scores for both the term-end exam and assignments.
  • Go over your calculations to make sure everything’s accurate.
  • Remember! This method gives you an approximate result percentage based on the example.

Significance of IGNOU Score Calculation

Calculating your IGNOU result percentage entails the fusion of your term-end exam and assignment performances. By diligently following the steps outlined above, you can gauge an estimation of your result percentage and gain insights into your academic standing. It’s important to recognize that IGNOU’s grading system assesses your holistic performance, encompassing both theoretical knowledge and practical application.

To pass the IGNOU exams in 2024, you need to score at least 70% in theory and 30% in assignments.

The IGNOU grade card calculator looks at assignment marks, TEE theory marks, and TEE practical marks.

You can access the IGNOU grade card 2024 for the July session after the announcement of the IGNOU TEE result 2024.

No, IGNOU won’t send the grade card for 2024 by mail. You have to check it online.

How to use the IGNOU Percentage Calculator 2023: A Step-by-Step Guide

Term Final Exams are administered by IGNOU in June and December, and they make up 70% of the overall mark. Once the applicants have turned in their assignments, they can take the exams.

A “D” mark on both assignments and the end-of-term test is necessary for IGNOU students to qualify. Your total average must be at least a C for you to successfully complete an IGNOU program.

How to calculate IGNOU Percentage?

To calculate the percentage in IGNOU, you need to follow these steps:

  • Add up the total marks obtained in all the courses (including theory and practical) in each semester.
  • Add up the maximum marks for all the courses in each semester.
  • Divide the total marks obtained by the maximum marks and multiply by 100 to get the percentage.

For example, let’s say you have completed 6 semesters in IGNOU and obtained the following marks:

Semester 1:

75/100
80/100
85/100
75 + 80 + 85 = 240
100 + 100 + 100 = 300
(240/300) * 100 = 80%

Repeat the same calculation for all the semesters and then calculate the overall percentage by taking the average of all the semester percentages.

Note that IGNOU also uses a credit-based system, so you may need to take that into account when calculating your overall grade point average (GPA).

IGNOU Grade Card Percentage Calculator

To calculate the percentage of IGNOU grade card, you can follow these steps:

  • Log in to the IGNOU website and go to the “Student Zone” section.
  • Click on the “Results” tab and select the examination for which you want to calculate the percentage.
  • Enter your 9-digit enrollment number and select your program from the dropdown menu.
  • Click on the “Submit” button and your grade card will be displayed.
  • Make a note of the grades obtained in each course and the corresponding credits assigned to each course.
  • Multiply the grade points obtained in each course by the credits assigned to that course to get the total grade points for that course.
  • Add up the total grade points for all the courses.
  • Add up the total credits assigned to all the courses.
  • Divide the total grade points by the total credits to get the GPA.
  • Multiply the GPA by 9.5 to get the percentage.

For example, let’s say you have obtained the following grades and credits in your IGNOU grade card:

Grade B, Credits 4
Grade C, Credits 3
Grade A, Credits 2
Grade B, Credits 3
Grade A, Credits 4

To calculate the percentage, first, we need to convert the grades to grade points using the following table:

5.00

4.50

4.00

3.50

3.00

2.00

1.00

Percentage Range:

The following table shows the percentage range for each letter grade:

A+

90% and above

A

80% to 89.9%

B+

70% to 79.9%

B

60% to 69.9%

C

50% to 59.9%

D

40% to 49.9%

E

35% to 39.9%

F

Below 35%

So, the grade points for the above courses will be:

Course 1 : 3.50 * 4 = 14.00

Course 2 : 3.00 * 3 = 9.00

Course 3 : 4.50 * 2 = 9.00

Course 4 : 3.50 * 3 = 10.50

Course 5 : 4.50 * 4 = 18.00

Total grade points = 14.00 + 9.00 + 9.00 + 10.50 + 18.00 = 60.50

Total credits = 4 + 3 + 2 + 3 + 4 = 16

GPA = Total grade points / Total credits = 60.50 / 16 = 3.78

Percentage = GPA * 9.5 = 3.78 * 9.5 = 35.91%

So, the percentage, in this case, is 35.91%.

IGNOU Percentage Calculator 2023

Once the student has participated in all examinations and accessed their complete IGNOU Grade Card or Result online from the University, they can proceed with calculating their percentage using the method or formula that we have explained below. Our provided instructions and guidelines will assist in determining the precise percentage attained in their examinations.

The IGNOU percentage is determined by considering the marks obtained in Assignments and the Theory marks acquired in the Term End Exam. This method is generally applicable to most of the courses offered by IGNOU.

Table of Contents

How to calculate IGNOU percentage?

The calculation of marks or percentage in IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) involves two components: Assignments and Term End Examination (TEE). Here’s how the marks are calculated:

  • Assignments: IGNOU assigns a specific weightage to assignments for each subject. Typically, assignments contribute to 30% of the total marks for a subject. The assignment questions are provided on the official website of university, and you need to submit your answers within the specified deadline. The marks obtained in assignments are scaled down to the maximum marks allocated for assignments in that particular subject.

For example , if the maximum marks for assignments in a subject are 100, and you score 80 marks in your assignments, then your scaled marks for assignments would be (80/100) * 30 = 24 marks.

  • Term End Examination (TEE): The remaining 70% of the marks for a subject are based on the TEE. IGNOU conducts TEEs twice a year, in June and December. The TEE is a written examination that you need to appear for at the designated examination center. The marks obtained in the TEE are scaled down to the maximum marks allocated for the TEE in that particular subject.

For example, if the maximum marks for the TEE in a subject are 100, and you score 70 marks in the TEE, then your scaled marks for the TEE would be (70/100) * 70 = 49 marks.

Once you have the scaled marks for assignments and the TEE, you can calculate the total marks for the subject by adding these two components together.

For example, if your scaled marks for assignments are 24 and your scaled marks for the TEE are 49, then your total marks for the subject would be 24 + 49 = 73 marks.

In the similar way, the students can calculate marks of all subjects and add them to calculate final percentage.

Let’s take example of any student who has 4 taken exam for subjects and the result has been declared in the IGNOU grade card.

ECO-160651845.563.5
ECO-270552138.559.5
ECO-3657519.552.572
ECO-490842758.885.8
280.8
70.2

It’s important to note that the weightage given to assignments and the format of the TEE can vary depending on the specific course and program. Therefore, it’s always advisable to refer to the course guide or contact IGNOU authorities for accurate information regarding the marking scheme of a particular subject.

IGNOU Grading System Percentage Calculator

For few programmes, the university does not provide the marks directly in the grade card. Instead, they provide Grades like A, B, C, D, E.

The IGNOU Grade Card for all programmes and courses offered is categorized as follows:

A80% and aboveExcellent
B60% to 79.9%Very Good
C50% to 59.9%Good
D40% to 49.9%Satisfactory
EBelow 40%Unsatisfactory

Students must get at least “D” grade in both assignment and theory to complete any subject/ course. However, the student has to get “C” grade in overall to complete the program in IGNOU.
