Hi Shelly ,

Thanks for your support of our products.

First, I would like to explain that the Assignment which was passed Due Time will still list in the student list. If students didn’t turn in this assignment on time, they will see Not turned in .( The due date for this assignment has passed and you can no longer turn it in. ) These assignments will still list in students’ view unless teachers delete them at their end.

For your reference: View and navigate your assignments (student)

Alissa Amundson

After 10 years facing students in a variety of Humanities courses, Alissa took her passion for Canvas to the Training Team as an individual contributor and as the Training Team Lead! Now, she is taking her passion global as the Channel Sales Enablement Manager. She earned a BA in History (minor English Language and Literature), BA in Russian Language and Literature from Brigham Young University, and a MAT in Teaching from the University of Southern California. She was the 2016 Teacher of the Year (Cottonwood High School, Salt Lake City, Utah). On her weekends, Alissa's hobbies include reading and playing the harp (Principal Harpist, Johnson City Symphony Orchestra). Change Assignment Due Dates Using the Calendar

This can be faster than editing Assignments individually. Seeing all Assignments on a single calendar can be helpful for context and planning.

  • Click on the Calendar button in the Canvas gray global navigation menu
  • Click your course at the far right

The calendar view in Canvas. The calendar icon in the toolbar on the left is highlighted with #1 next to it. On the right side of the screen, in the list called Calendars, a course name is highlighted with a #2 next to it. The selectable item in the calendar titled "Final" is highlighted and labeled #3.

  • To drag & drop: Select the Assignment title on the calendar. Drag and drop it to the calendar square that indicates the desired due date.

The pop-up window that appears after clicking on an item in Canvas calendar, with an "Edit" button in the bottom right corner. Below is the subsequent pop-up window for editing the event. It has three rows to input information labeled, "Title," "Due," and "Groups." The "Due" row has a calendar icon on the right side that is highlighted. There is a "Submit" button in the lower right corner of this window.

  • You have now changed the due date for this Assignment—not just on your calendar, but for the actual Assignment. You can check it by going to the Assignments tab and confirming that the due date has changed. Continue doing this with each Assignment that needs updating.

Undated Assignments

If you have any Undated assignments (Assignments Discussions, or Quizzes with no due dates established) you can quickly add dates by dragging and dropping them onto the calendar.

  • Unfurl the arrow next to Undated

The calendar view in Canvas. The calendar icon in the toolbar on the left is highlighted with #1 next to it. On the right side of the screen, the section to select which course calendar is displaying is highlighted with #2 next to it. Below that is a list title, "Undated," that is highlighted with #3 next to it. One of the items in this list is highlighted, with #4 next to it, and an arrow pointing from the list to the calendar.

  • You have now changed the due date for this Assignment—not just on your calendar, but for the actual Assignment. You can check it by going to the Assignments tab and confirming that the due date has changed. Continue doing this with each Assignment that needs a due date.

This is ridiculous and has been a thorn for quite awhile. I took an assignment from last year, changed the due date to Mon Nov 18th (today is Friday Nov 15th) and in the grade column all have zeros (which lowers their grades of course). I have to have zero's in there in case there is a non-submissio...

The first two assignments were for this past sunday and then the one for today, so I think when he was changing the due dates for this weeks assignments he might have forgotten to change the time. All of the assignments say 12:59am before he changes them for each week to be 11:59pm.
