Hi Shelly ,
Thanks for your support of our products.
First, I would like to explain that the Assignment which was passed Due Time will still list in the student list. If students didn’t turn in this assignment on time, they will see Not turned in .( The due date for this assignment has passed and you can no longer turn it in. ) These assignments will still list in students’ view unless teachers delete them at their end.
For your reference: View and navigate your assignments (student)

Change Assignment Due Dates Using the Calendar
This can be faster than editing Assignments individually. Seeing all Assignments on a single calendar can be helpful for context and planning.
- Click on the Calendar button in the Canvas gray global navigation menu
- Click your course at the far right
- To drag & drop: Select the Assignment title on the calendar. Drag and drop it to the calendar square that indicates the desired due date.
- You have now changed the due date for this Assignment—not just on your calendar, but for the actual Assignment. You can check it by going to the Assignments tab and confirming that the due date has changed. Continue doing this with each Assignment that needs updating.
Undated Assignments
If you have any Undated assignments (Assignments Discussions, or Quizzes with no due dates established) you can quickly add dates by dragging and dropping them onto the calendar.
- Unfurl the arrow next to Undated
- You have now changed the due date for this Assignment—not just on your calendar, but for the actual Assignment. You can check it by going to the Assignments tab and confirming that the due date has changed. Continue doing this with each Assignment that needs a due date.

The assignment was due on the 6th and she changed the date to the 13th of 2022, I turned the assignment in on Blackboard and it was not late since it was due on the 13th. I'll just email her tomorrow 😞
This is ridiculous and has been a thorn for quite awhile. I took an assignment from last year, changed the due date to Mon Nov 18th (today is Friday Nov 15th) and in the grade column all have zeros (which lowers their grades of course). I have to have zero's in there in case there is a non-submissio...
The first two assignments were for this past sunday and then the one for today, so I think when he was changing the due dates for this weeks assignments he might have forgotten to change the time. All of the assignments say 12:59am before he changes them for each week to be 11:59pm.
To update the due dates for the selected assignments, click on the three dots at the top right to view assignment options and select "Manage dates." You can also select a specific assignment from the assignment overview widget on the section dashboard.
Normally, there are two kinds of time settings for the assignment, due date, and close date. The due date won’t get preponed by one day unless someone changes it. Please open the assignment again and check whether the due date is wrong (under the assignment name).

Need to extend an assignment's deadline or update its resources after you've already assigned it? In Microsoft Teams, you can edit an assignment, even after you’ve sent it out to students. Change its due date, modify instructions or the points available, and more.
We received notification from a student that states their Canvas app showed a different due date for an assignment than the actual deadline posted in the desktop version by the instructor. Upon acting as the student in Canvas their account appeared to be in the correct time zone.
How often do you need to adjust or change a due date for an assignment? Canvas has a few easy ways to change due dates! If you want to quickly change one due date (ie. “Oh we’re not going to be ready for that assignment on Thursday, let's bump it to Friday!”), go to the Calendar and “drag and drop” the assignment from Thursday to ...
