Our fellows are early-career researchers who aspire to be public intellectuals.
Ronja Griep is a Gates Scholar and a current Ph.D. candidate at the University of Cambridge working in feminist political philosophy. For her CCIR fellowship, she will be leading an interview series on 21st Century Body Politics, where she will discuss the politics of bodily beauty and wellness with leading academics in philosophy, the social sciences, and beyond.
The RE:THINK Essay Competition
The 2021 Re:think Essay Competition invited high school students around the world to document, investigate, and to reflect upon the COVID-19 pandemic. In this culminating conference, our winning essayists are joined by our three distinguished Cambridge faculty judges—Dr. Tom McClelland (Cambridge, Philosophy), Dr. Hande Güzel (Cambridge, Sociology), and Dr. Daniele Casesse (Cambridge, Economics).

Inspired by our growing high school readership around the world, we have run the Harvard International Review Academic Writing Contest since 2020 to encourage and highlight outstanding high school writing on topics related to international affairs.
Curated list of high school essay writing competitions that might catch the eye of admission officers at your dream college in 2024
Below, we’ve selected twenty-five writing competitions for high school students and sorted them by three general topics: 1) language, literature and arts, 2) STEM, environment and sustainability, and 3) politics, history and philosophy.
Our Essay Competition invites students to explore a wide range of challenging and interesting questions beyond the confines of the school curriculum. Entering an essay in our competition can build knowledge, and refine skills of argumentation.
Essay Submission Deadline: 10th May, 2024. Result Announcement: 20th June, 2024. Award Ceremony and Dinner at the University of Cambridge: 30th July, 2024. We welcome talented high school students from diverse educational settings worldwide to contribute their unique perspectives to the competition. Entry to the competition is free.
