While Edexcel A-level politics only has three question types (12, 24 and 30 marks), the long US essays need a little more planning and preparation than some of the UK essays. The US questions are often multi-factor, meaning you must not only look at the impact of each named factor, but also compare their impact and importance.
The specification requires you to develop ‘parallels, connections, similarities and differences’ in your analysis (AO2). It is from this that excellent evaluation (AO3) can be developed. To achieve both AO2 and AO3, you must know what the question is asking.

You are very well prepared, your work can help many students. This is a really important topic. But I also added the following questions to them:
- How do economic issues such as inflation, unemployment, and income inequality affect American political sentiment and elections?
- How is the US coping with the COVID-19 pandemic, and what are its implications for health, education, and social welfare?
- What threats and opportunities do growing Chinese influence, tensions with Russia, and the changing international order present for the US?
Usually, when preparing an essay, I consider different options and analyze other authors on https://eduhelper/essay-samples . They put together a lot of free essay examples and it helps me to look at the issue from different points of view. I think it will be useful to revise your structure and add issues of modern politics.
